# MidiGrid Help MidiGrid is a fast, section-based chord and pattern builder. Use it to sketch progressions, styles, and MIDI in a few clicks. ## Quick Start - Pick a Key and Scale (optional). - Choose a progression (Prog) or click bars to set chords. - Pick a Section template or define sections manually. - Press Play to audition; use Randomatazation for fast variations. ## Layout and Tabs - The left and right panels can show different tabs at the same time. - Click a tab button to swap what that panel shows. ## Sections and Chords - Section Definer: name sections, set bar counts, colors, and per-section style or rhythm overrides. - Section Grid: click a bar, then click a chord to assign it. - Chord Grid: pick chords quickly and see scale-safe options. ## Tracks - Four tracks (A-D). Each track can run in Style or MIDI mode. - Style mode generates notes from the chord grid. - MIDI mode plays recorded or drawn notes. ## Piano Roll - Use the Section dropdown to focus on a section. - Click-drag to select notes. Ctrl/Cmd+Click to create notes. - Drag notes to move them. Use the velocity slider for selected notes. - Use Only Allow Scale Notes to keep edits in key. ## Rhythm - Enable Rhythm and choose a drum pattern. - Use the Rhythm Section dropdown to edit per-section patterns. - If a section Rhythm is set to None, drums stay silent there. ## Randomatazation - The main Randomize button changes the whole scene. - Use the checkboxes to include or exclude parts. - Section Randomize (in Piano Roll) only changes the current section. ## Export / Import - Export MIDI, WAV, or MP3 from the Export tab. - Export Settings to save everything; Import Settings to restore. ## Tips - Use Fit (F) in the Piano Roll to frame the notes. - Save favorite scenes with Hold/Fetch in Favourites.
